Who Was Abigail?
Abigail was a wise and kind woman. Her husband Nabal was rich but mean and selfish.
David’s men had protected Nabal’s sheep. When they asked for food, Nabal said rude things and refused to share.
David got angry and was about to fight. But Abigail quickly gathered a big gift of food and rode out to meet him.
She spoke with wisdom and grace. She made peace! David thanked her for stopping him from doing something wrong.
